On Jan 21, Sat noon, about 20 alumni including kids gathered at a
meeting room provided by our outstanding alumni, Prof. Hu, Xiaolu, the
dean / director of the Counseling Education dept. at SJSU.

We started with a delicious potluck and chat before the seminar.

The well prepared seminar with hand outs to each participant was a great
and new experience.  Prof. Hu began with the topic of "Career Counseling
and Career Development" which lead to the self identification,
assessment and development, etc. All of which were very valuable and
useful theory for ourselves as well as to our children.  We followed up
with a heated debate.  Many of us were concerned about career
development while others focused on children's education.  The seminar
officially ended at 3:45 PM but our discussions continued until long after
5 PM.  We then continued the conversation throughout dinner at a
Vietnamese-Chinese restaurant near the campus.  After dinner some of us
attended the CNetwork Chinese New Year's Party and enjoyed the
performance and movie.

It was a fun day!

Many thanks to Prof. Hu for her contribution, Liu Ying for recommending
and arranging this seminar, and everyone for the lively participation.
