Organized by many Chinese organizations, the 512 China earthquake candlelight vigil was held last
night from 8 - 9 PM at three locations: Central Park in Fremont,
Memories Park
in Cupertino & Union Square in San
Francisco.
Some of our BNU members participated at the Fremont
or Cupertino
site.
At the Cupertino
site, Yang Bin volunteered to purchase the candle, he and Lijuan and their
sweet kids also helped on site candle distribution and other task, what a nice
family! Thank you very much!
I went to Fremont,
the service that took place at the beautiful lake in the Central
Park was very successful. Nearly 400 people attended, including
the mayor and council members of city of Fremont.
All the presenters and MCs did impeccable works. All the presentations (songs,
poems and Jiwen reading etc.) deeply touched the heart of every attendee. It is
unforgettable.
Many thanks to our Fremont volunteers as well. Wu/ Kanglong, Zhu/Yibing and Katherin Xiao
arrived before 6:30 and helped to set up the stage and everything. Zhu/Yibing's height was a huge asset for task
like hang on the banner. Kanglong's artist
skill contributed to the beautiful candle heart. Thank you all again!
