On Sunday, Aug, 8, despite schedule changes and the fact that many people

were on vacation, we had a total of 35 people participate our BNU team in

the North California Chinese Athletic Competition.  Some participated in the

very early opening ceremonies, while others ran in the 100x16 race after

6PM.  We were fifth in the relay but first in the spirit.

 

Our marching group strode in high spirits, and waved our bold BNU flag with

prominence.  Several alumni were able to notice us from our flag, and

quickly came to sign up.

 

Thanks for our relay runners who stayed with us until 8 PM to run a stunning

race.  We're all proud of you!

Special thanks to Eric Zhang for all of his hard work in preparing and

organizing this event, Bruce Yang (Yang Bin) for finding the replacements of

runner who could not make it on the spot thus saving our team    Eric also

brought an enormous cooler full of refreshments (including Red Bull!) for

our athletes.

 

For lunch, we found a shady spot of grass and had a very relaxed picnic fun.
