On Sunday, Aug 11, The North Californian Chinese Athletic Competition's
opening ceremony began around 5 PM.  All of us arrived before the
ceremony started, our senior alumni, Prof. Chen Momei & Zhang Anhe, who arrived at 4:00 PM sharp as requested.  Welcome new alumni, Diao, Mei (88, physics) joined us.
Our marching group strode in high spirits, Zhang, Hui-pin held our bold BNU flag with prominence.  A total of 24 people participated the ceremony, despite the August being vacation season.  Thank you!

There was tremendous participation this year, many diversified groups with its own unique uniforms, banners and flags.  Gong -fu and dance groups caught the most attention with their outstanding uniforms and performance.  Kids enjoyed the rich and fun Children’s programs while adults wandering among those food, gift and DVD booths & enjoyed the chatting.

The art performance started right after the ceremony.  So we did not have time to enjoy dinner together.  The rich program was outstanding, two hot performers are Wang, Jie-Shi and He, xiao-huan, a traditional Chinese instrument player, both from mainland China.
