Dear ALL,
With the contribution from
everyone, the 2004 National Day and Moon festival was a big success!
We would like to take this
opportunity to thank everyone and give this report.
The on stage program
started at 10:30 AM sharp, followed the flag raising, General Consul Mr. Peng
and VIP speech was the performance which started from 11:00AM. The entire performance took 3 1/2 hours with
a total of 24 shows including famous "Changing Face", "Eyelids
Weight Lifting", "Acrobatic - Happy Chef", "Genies World
Record - One Stroke Handwriting", "BayLand Dancing in colorful
minorities' dresses", chorus and solo singings, Beijing Opera, Chinese
Gong-Fu, Children dances, Children Poem Speech, Fashion Show, etc. With many
talented performers, more than 20 organizations / groups prepared for this
event though some of them could not make it at the last minute. Many thanks to
our MC Xu/GuangYu (许广宇)
and Ding/WeiPing (丁维平), Li/ZhiJian (厉志坚) and Xiong/LiPing (熊丽萍) for their
excellent skills to link all the programs smoothly and flawlessly.
Special thanks to
- Yu/JingJiang (于静江),
Bei/XiaoChun (卑晓春) and Nina Zhang (张宁远) for their professional artistic advices
to the performance.
- Shi/YongXia (时永霞)
of BNU for preparing thank-you certificates and gift bags for performers and
participating Chinese schools.
- The Chinese's
Consul of Education for providing gifts for children groups.
Off stage children
program attracted a lots of "little friends". The jump house was
filled with kids all the time. Mini-Golf and Mini-Bowling got more boys while
Fishing Game seemed to be little girls' favorites. Ring Toss was a physical
challenge while riddles even let parents have a hard time... Over 200 prizes run out before 3 PM.
